Hazard associated: All parts are poisonous if ingested. May cause contact dermatitis.
- The plant is found in gardens and in some areas of Australia it has become naturalised.
- Variegated variety have been developed by plant breeders and many variations in the size, shape and colour combinations can be found.
- Some inexperienced gardeners and/or foragers may mistake the leaves or bulbs for onions when the flowers are absent.
